Wednesday 30 September - Up at 0600 again to make sure we were ready for the horrendous journey to the airport - we set off at 0800 for a 1030 flight. Just as well 90 minutes later we made it to the domestic terminal - Londoners you ain’t seen nothing !

We arrived with time to spare as domestic check in is a relaxed affair ! Only weighing the cases which then disappeared - at the ticket desk we got a sticker ! He hesitated when he approach Joy’s ample bosom clearly showing some trepidation ! He plumped for the shoulder.

Through security and a jolly wave through the X-ray machine into the departure lounger Here the restaurant offered a half decent cappuccino and a apple pie ! The bus took us off to a brand new RJR - in 45 minutes the two staffed managed close the doors; do the safety demonstration; a drinks service; breakfast; tea and coffee; clear away and boiled sweets for landing. BA eat your heart out Arrival at Thand we the heat hit you and surprisingly we had to go through immigration although no one was interested in leaving Yangon.

We were met by a lady from the Amata Resort and Spa who shuffled on to a bus and magically two men appeared with the cases. On the bus we headed at 15 kph along the coast for 20 minutes finally arriving at our destination.

The accommodation consisted of cabanas which were specially opened up for us as the season only starts in a few days time. We were almost the only guests. The village was quiet - a few restaurants and some souvenir shops again not all open and a grocery store and a prominent sign - Laundry.

The wifi was working so we checked Tripadvisor and decided to try Ambrosia for dinner. We had avocado to start washed down Ayuthaha Myanmar white wine, rice and veggie and a banana
