Taipei Travels

Today, Friday 25th March 2011, we set off on our second sojourn to points around the region - this time a Taiwan sampler.

From HK it is a short 1.5 hour hop to Taipei in the north of Taiwan. We checked the weather forecast and although a bit cooler than HK just a jumper was packed.

Arriving at the airport and standing outside for the bus it seems that things were much colder (have we already acclimatised to HK ?).

Our destination was the Palais de Chine and an unlikely location of top of the Q Square shopping mall. Not only an unlikely location but also a decor right out of pre-revolutionary France. Eat your heart out Marie-Antoinette.

After a slight hiccup at checkin we got a nice room not facing the main road.
